My label is printing wrong

If you have a big margin on the left or if your label is smashed into the center, you can fix the problem by Resetting The Factory Defaults.

If you’re using a Zebra GC420T with the newest driver, please follow these instructions:

  1. Go to your Windows Start Open it and click Devices and Printers. If you’re using Windows XP it will be named Printers and Faxes.
  2. In the Printers window find your label printer.  It will most likely be named PMIPRINTER. Right-click it and select Printing Preferences.
  3. In the Printing Preferences window select the Tools tab.
  4. In the Command Type list the word Action should be selected.  If it is not, click it to select it.
  5. In the Command name list select Load factory defaults.  Click Send. The printer will load the factory defaults and reset itself.
  6. When the light turns green again try printing a label from Evidence Tracker.  It should be lined up now.

If you’re using an older printer, older driver, or if for some other reason the above steps don’t work for you should try the old steps. Here are instructions for XP computers and Vista / 7 computers.
